چکیده

The emergence of multidrug-resistance (MDR)—New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase (NDM)-producing microorganisms—has become a serious concern for treating such infections. Therefore, we investigated the effective antimicrobial combinations against multidrug-resistant New metallo-beta-lactamase-producing strains Enterobacterales. tests were carried out using 2D(two-dimensional) checkerboard method. Of 7 antimicrobials, i.e., doripenem (DRP), streptomycin (STR), cefoxitin (FOX), imipenem (IPM), cefotaxime (CTX), meropenem (MER), and gentamicin (GEN), 19 different used, them, three showed synergistic effects 31 highly drug-resistant carrying blaNDM other associated resistance markers. Changes in minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values interpreted test fractional index (FIC Index). FIC Index these found range 0.1562 to 0.5, which shows synergy, whereas no synergism was observed remaining combinations. We conclude that antibiotic can be analyzed vivo pharmacological studies establish an therapeutic approach.

Emergence of Multidrug-Resistant New Delhi Metallo-β-Lactamase-1-Producing Klebsiella pneumoniae in Egypt.

Despite expansion of the New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1 (NDM-1) worldwide, the incident of outbreaks regarding Egypt is still uncommon. In this survey, we denounce the emanation of multidrug-resistant NDM-1-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae in Egypt. We have reclaimed 46 unrepeatable carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae isolates at El-demerdash hospital, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. All the...

Hospital Outbreak of Carbapenem-Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae Producing New Delhi Metallo-Beta-Lactamase — Denver, Colorado, 2012

On August 16, 2012, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment was notified of two patients at an acute-care hospital in Denver with carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), specifically Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP), isolated from respiratory specimens during July-August. Both isolates produced New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase (NDM). A review of microbiology records identifi...

Burn Patients Infected With Metallo-Beta-Lactamase-Producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Multidrug-Resistant Strains

BACKGROUND Metallo-beta-lactamase (MBL) producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the burn patients is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality and remains a serious health concern among the clinicians. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to detect MBL-producing P. aeruginosa in burn patients and determine multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains, and respective resistance patterns. PATIENTS AND METH...

Impact of the New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase on beta-lactam antibiotics

Since the first New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase (NDM) report in 2009, NDM has spread globally causing various types of infections. NDM-positive organisms produce in vitro resistance phenotypes to carbapenems and many other antimicrobials. It is thus surprising that the literature examining clinical experiences with NDM does not report corresponding poor clinical outcomes. There are many instan...
